"Anne of Green Gables" Star Cameron Daddo Actor Cameron Daddo joins Yahoo! Chat on Monday, July 17 at 5pET/2pPT. Daddo is part of the talented team behind Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story. He plays Jack Garrison, a dashing American novelist who gets wrapped up in World War I espionage drama and Anne Shirley. A well known TV star in his native Australia (He had his own cartoon show!), Daddo has been steadily building his resume in North America with roles on Hope Island, Young Indiana Jones and Models, Inc. He's currently filming Anthray opposite Ed Begley, Jr., David Keith and William B. Davis.

elizabeth_122 asks: Have you read the Anne books by LM Montgomery? If so what do you think of the story being different?
cameron_daddo_live: I haven't read the book.
cameron_daddo_live: What I had seen was the original -- first two -- movies that they did.
cameron_daddo_live: I think it's good that it's different; it's an extension. It's furthering the story.

cameron_daddo_live: In the Continuing Story I play Jack Garrison, and he's a writer.
cameron_daddo_live: If they didn't extend the books and continue the story, I wouldn't have been involved. So I think it's a great idea that they did.

australianprincessjess asks: Cameron, it wa so great to see you in the cast and you were fabulous!. My question is how you got involved in the production?
cameron_daddo_live: Basically it was an offer from the production. They called me up and asked if I wanted to be involved in it.
cameron_daddo_live: Which of course, I subsequently found out about the popularity of the Anne stories, the books, the films... and I accepted.
cameron_daddo_live: It is funny though in this business because I didn't have much time to prepare. Two days after I found out about the job I was flying over to shoot.

Wilson__Lau asks: Do you feel that Anne would have married Jack if Gilbert were truly dead? And could Anne have ever been happy in such a relationship?
cameron_daddo_live: LOL! She may have wanted to marry Jack. Jack wanted to marry the "idea" of Anne.
cameron_daddo_live: I think the question is: Could Jack have stayed in that relationship? And my answer would have to be "no."
cameron_daddo_live: I think once Anne sets her mind to something, she stays with it, but Jack was a wee bit more fickle. And guided by his loins.

skweakx asks: What was your favorite scene to film?
cameron_daddo_live: The reuniting of Anne and Jack inside the cattle train.

nickycnoz asks: Will you be doing another album? Joanne and I would love to see another tour in Australia by you.
cameron_daddo_live: It's definitely one of my projects at the moment, yes.
cameron_daddo_live: And it's nice to know I'd have two people in the audience!
cameron_daddo_live: Please tell two friends.

cameron_daddo_live: I hope there's an Anne 4.

cameron_daddo_live: Yes, I can comprehend it.
cameron_daddo_live: I think people are looking for mentors.
cameron_daddo_live: And people with high morals. For themselves. People with integrity.
cameron_daddo_live: So it doesn't surprise me because there's a character who does all those things, and you see her making mistakes, but you know she does things for her highest good.
cameron_daddo_live: Megan Follows is also very good.

skweakx asks: What was it like working with Megan Follows?
cameron_daddo_live: Interesting.
cameron_daddo_live: She's very passionate.
cameron_daddo_live: And loves to laugh.
cameron_daddo_live: It was a pleasure.

jewel_juliette asks: was Megan as strong willed as as she acts?
cameron_daddo_live: Stronger.

tbhbryan asks: What drew you to play Jack Garrison?
cameron_daddo_live: Well, you know, I could give a very esoteric answer or a very straight-out answer.
cameron_daddo_live: To me playing Jack was very reflective of what was going on in my life at the time, with my relationship with my father and I, so that drew me. I also have a new father, so that was part of it too.
cameron_daddo_live: Also the money wasn't bad either. :)
cameron_daddo_live: And getting a chance to be involved in such a production was part of it too.
cameron_daddo_live: I love to work. And my passion is to be in great stories and tell stories. So this is a further advancement of my dream. It's an honor and a privilege to be an actor.

patbarb_12721 asks: Heard you have a new addition to your family. How is that going and congrats to you both.
cameron_daddo_live: Thank you very much, and it is magical.

anne_blythe_24 asks: Cameron, I must admit I didn't like your character at first. But the more I see it the more I like your character. Did you enjoy doing this movie?
cameron_daddo_live: Yes.
cameron_daddo_live: It's great pushing boundaries; we don't like everybody that we meet, but we all have our own intentions as to why we do things.
cameron_daddo_live: And you can wonder why a guy robs a bank, and one perspective is, he's a bank robber, and from his perspective, maybe he's got five kids, he's done everything he possibly can... so there are two sides to every story.
cameron_daddo_live: It always surprises me when people don't like characters and then later they do.
cameron_daddo_live: I'm glad I had a chance to be Jack Garrison and to tell his story.

reneekrulich asks: Did you campaign for the role or were you approached?
cameron_daddo_live: I was approached.
cameron_daddo_live: Joyfully approached.

nickycnoz asks: Cameron can you tell us more about this movie Anthrax you are doing?
cameron_daddo_live: I just wrapped it. It's set in Calgary.
cameron_daddo_live: The story of a RCMP officer caught in the middle of a national conspiracy.
cameron_daddo_live: ... and threat of anthrax.
cameron_daddo_live: It's a thriller.
cameron_daddo_live: It's really cool.
cameron_daddo_live: And it stars Ed Begley Jr.
cameron_daddo_live: David Keith (who was in Officer and a Gentleman)
cameron_daddo_live: Joanna Cassidy

cameron_daddo_live: And Allison Hossack. I worked with her on Hope Island. She played Molly,

cameron_daddo_live: She's an incredible actress and a lovely person.
cameron_daddo_live: And has since become a really good friend.
cameron_daddo_live: She's quite a good kisser too.

tbrick_2000 asks: How did you get our "American" accent down so well? I had no idea you were from Australia!
cameron_daddo_live: I grew up on American television.
cameron_daddo_live: Spent my high school years in a high school in New Jersey.
cameron_daddo_live: And practice, practice, practice.

reneekrulich asks: Did you want to laugh when your shoe was smoking in a supposedly serious situation?
cameron_daddo_live: LOL! Absolutely.
cameron_daddo_live: And I probably did.

lulynde asks: Cameron - where are you from in Australia? Do you know Neutral Bay?!!
cameron_daddo_live: Used to sail in Neutral Bay, and go to the local pub called the Oaks.
cameron_daddo_live: I am from Melbourne and Sydney.

audrey_can asks: Cameron, what kind of atmosphere was it while shooting Anne 3? Was it serious, or lighthearted, or pranks...
cameron_daddo_live: It was varying on the state of what shape the script was in.
cameron_daddo_live: If we were struggling with a scene it was pretty tense. But if it was fine, then we could have a bit of fun.
cameron_daddo_live: The director Stefan Scaini is good fun.
cameron_daddo_live: I always bring a few pranks along myself.

lissi_england asks: What is your favourite line from Anne 3?

jennygirl_carr asks: Did you have any idea how Daniel and Alex's relationship would develope if there was a second season of hope Island?
cameron_daddo_live: Yes. They would have done it. And done it again.
cameron_daddo_live: You would have seen Daniel running from the Widow's Walk with his jeans bundled up under his arm, in his boxer shorts, with his ministerial boots on. At 4:30 am.

australianprincessjess asks: What was it like working with Jonothan Crombie, and what is he like?
cameron_daddo_live: He seems like a nice bloke.
cameron_daddo_live: I didn't really spend that much time with him. We were working on different days mostly.
cameron_daddo_live: He doesn't eat peanuts.
cameron_daddo_live: We have a conflict there.

cameron_daddo_live: Music.
cameron_daddo_live: Guitar, piano.
cameron_daddo_live: Golf.
cameron_daddo_live: Surfing.
cameron_daddo_live: And being thoroughly entertained and entertaining my children.

cameron_daddo_live: We just wrapped Anthrax, that will be coming out in the spring
cameron_daddo_live: There are other things coming up, but nothing too concrete, so I'm just enjoying the summer at the moment with my family and friends.

cameron_daddo_live: Had one conversation with the man.
cameron_daddo_live: He seemed alright.
cameron_daddo_live: I'd work with him again.

elizabeth_122 asks: Did you have knowledge of the fact that many people would not like your character simply because of their devotion to the Anne-Gilbert romance?
cameron_daddo_live: Yes. Of course.
cameron_daddo_live: It's kind of nice being a splinter every now and again.

patbarb_12721 asks: I'm seeing the whole Hope Island fan club in here. You have quite a following. Thanks for doing such good work. Your characters are excellent. Do you ever play the bad guy?
cameron_daddo_live: Funny, I was just offered the bad guy in Anthrax. And then they asked me to play the lead.
cameron_daddo_live: I welcome all opportunities. Because I really do believe there are no bad guys. They're good guys feeling bad.

cameron_daddo_live: Got three hours? :)
cameron_daddo_live: Anything.
cameron_daddo_live: The only stuff I really don't listen to is rap.
cameron_daddo_live: I love all blues, Delta blues. Rock. Country.
cameron_daddo_live: Classical. Jazz.
cameron_daddo_live: I listen to it all... I've got world music, Peruvian music, Australian aboriginal music, Native American stuff.
cameron_daddo_live: I draw the line at Yanni and John Tesh though.

cameron_daddo_live: Montreal and Toronto.

tbrick_2000 asks: Some people on the "Anne3" Forum seem to hate the Jack character because he tries to steal Anne away. Do you think Jack was misunderstood, especially in his intentions towards Anne?
cameron_daddo_live: LOL!
cameron_daddo_live: No.
cameron_daddo_live: I think Jack was just following his own heart. What he felt he needed, he followed it.
cameron_daddo_live: And those people casting judgments... judge not lest ye be judged.

malibu_dreamgirl asks: What is it like working with Joanna Cassidy? Shes my hero because my name is Joanna also!
cameron_daddo_live: She's got so much spark. So much charisma. Full of life.
cameron_daddo_live: She's a font of knowledge.
cameron_daddo_live: And she's a lover of life. What's not to like?

cameron_daddo_live: I love all the Clint Eastwood westerns. Paul Newman movies: Cool Hand Luke.
cameron_daddo_live: Movies like Jaws, Towering Inferno...
cameron_daddo_live: Australian movies like Gallipoli, Light Horseman, Mad Max...
cameron_daddo_live: TV Shows: Couldn't go past the Monkees or the Partridge Family. Lost in Space was fun too.

webbgirl_20659 asks: Why as the Kiss between Ann and Jack shown in coming attractions but not in the shown in the actually video or what was on TV?
cameron_daddo_live: Probably to get you people to watch it! And to piss you off :)

cameron_daddo_live: Kissing Megan Follows.

nickycnoz asks: What has been your favourite part you played so far?
cameron_daddo_live: Huckleberry Finn, for the musical Big River.
cameron_daddo_live: My favorite North American role would have to be Raleigh Tyler on F/X.
cameron_daddo_live: But really I love all my roles. I can't narrow it down too much. I loved playing Jack. I loved playing Daniel Cooper.
cameron_daddo_live: I bring myself to the role, so to turn around and say "I like that person" or "I don't like that person," it negates that part of me.

cameron_daddo_live: Perfect Storm, and I haven't seen it yet.

cameron_daddo_live: I just did a guest lead on Kevin Sorbo's new show, Andromeda.

cameron_daddo_live: Really good ones.
cameron_daddo_live: I really like movies that have people fighting: fighting for what they want, fighting for their lives. Good vs. evil, I suppose.

tenniskristin_2000 asks: Who did you work with the most while making the movie besides Megan Follows
cameron_daddo_live: She was the only one I really worked with a lot. Besides the director.

lissi_england asks: If you were in the same situations as Jack, would you react the same?
cameron_daddo_live: If you broke down the situation, it's World War I.
cameron_daddo_live: To transplant myself into that kind of world is pretty intense. Would I have made the same choice? Maybe.
cameron_daddo_live: Because in the end, Jack does the honorable thing and he helps Anne find her husband, at the expense of his own desires to have Anne as his.

KC_Viola asks: I'm going to Australia in the up comming year, what can you recommend for me there?
cameron_daddo_live: Any beach on the East Coast.
cameron_daddo_live: Or West Coast, for that matter. They're all beautiful.

cameron_daddo_live: Sure.
cameron_daddo_live: And I was always taught never say no.
cameron_daddo_live: So at this point: no.
